Currently assigned to lead The Galveston Police Department's efforts at transitioning to a Community Oriented Policing philosophy. Lt. Trevino is 42 years of age. Born in Mexico and emigrated to The U.S. at the age of 8. He attended South Houston High School (Pasadena I.S.D.) Spent 2 ½ years in Army Reserves (Combat Medic) and 4 years Air National Guard (Military Police). Worked 3 years at State of Texas Armory Board (Security). Attended College of The Mainland Police Academy.
Lt. Trevino was in the 35th Galveston Police Academy and is a 20-year veteran of GPD. He is a TCLEOSE certified Law Enforcement Instructor. Lt. Trevino teaches Defensive Tactics, PR 24 Baton, Expandable Baton, Taser, and Firearms. Past assignments include Training Coordinator, Watch Commander and Investigative Bureau Lieutenant. Additionally, Lt. Trevino has attended and graduated from the FBI - Leadership and Command College, and has completed Phase I and Phase II of the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) at Sam Houston State University. Lt. Trevino is currently a nominee for attendance to The FBI National Academy.
Lt. Trevino has been married for 21 years and has a 19-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter. He is an avid runner and has completed 13 Marathons.
