Motor Officer Survival Training (M.O.S.T.)

The Motor Officer Shooter Training course is designed to allow Motorcycle Officers the opportunity to shoot various drills and techniques while operating on and around their motors; just as they would on a daily basis.  Principals stressed during the training will include: shooting while wearing daily riding gear (helmet, gloves, etc), shooting and reloading while mounted, emergency dismount and mount, using the motor as cover, etc.  These principals will be taught and emphasized using drills that accurately resemble real-world deployment.

 Course Description:

 Prerequisites:

Active duty Law Enforcement, preferably assigned to a Motor / Traffic Division

 Equipment Needed:

Police Motorcycle

Helmet

Riding gloves (if used)

Duty pistol

Duty rig (as is carried on your motor)

300 pistol rounds

Hearing / Eye Pro

Seasonally Appropriate Attire

Rain Gear

Weapon Cleaning Gear

 Notes:

The majority of the class will be held on an outdoor range so be prepared to be outside, i.e. bring water, hats, sunglasses, bugspray etc, as is seasonally appropriate.  Also, lunch will be held on the range to minimize downtime.  Lunch will be provided by the training cadre; however, you may want to bring your own lunch in the case that you do not want to eat what is provided.
