Have you seen someone out of place in your community? Perhaps you noticed unusual vehicle traffic.
We urge you to report any and all instance of unusual activity to us as soon as possible.
Over the past several months the Galveston Police Department has seen a major increase in complaints of unethical behavior and criminal offenses commited by contractors. It is important that any and all such instances are reported to us.
One of the primary objectives of the Galveston Police Department is the removal of narcotics and the individuals who distribute them in our community. We gather intelligence information in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, however our most accurate and reliable source of information comes from you, the "concerned citizen".
Geography has a major influence on crime. The features and characteristics of cityscapes and rural landscapes can make it easier or more difficult for crime to occur. Combining geographic data with police report data and then displaying the information on a map is an effective way to analyze where, how and why crime occurs.
